Aylesbury Consort of Voices
We are an a capella performance choir of 16 experienced singers.
The music tackled by the group is wide-ranging: renaissance to contemporary and everything between. We are a friendly group and thrive on our collective enjoyment of the process and the performance. We often sing challenging but rewarding pieces, almost always unaccompanied.
The Consort specialises in singing concerts to raise funds for churches local to our Buckinghamshire base. We aim to do three or four concerts a year and often sing at weddings, funerals and charity fund-raisers.
All of our singers have some musical background and training. Our commitment, musicality and sensitivity make for compelling performances while our rehearsals are friendly, productive and normally peppered with a strong sense of fun. Post rehearsal drinks at a local public house are not obligatory but are a regular feature and a perfect way to get to know fellow singers.
Vacancies sometimes come up and we are always keen to hear from interested amateur singers with good sight-reading, who can commit to rehearsals on Thursday evenings from 7.30-9.30 pm in Aylesbury.
Entry to the choir is by attendance for a probationary period followed, if successful, by an invitation to full membership.
